Your Healing Matters!

Welcome! Seeking out support can be scary, especially when you have been accustomed to dealing with life's ups and downs by yourself. Throughout life you may feel as if you are moving further away from the person that you want to be. This is your time to reclaim yourself and take up space in this world! It may seem radical to envision taking up space with your voice, your presence, and your body - and you are right!  Especially in a world that constantly tells you that you are not enough and that you should accept less than what you deserve. I am here to help you take those courageous steps towards honoring your voice, loving yourself, while moving towards embodying the person that you were created to be. This is your opportunity to seek out mental and emotional freedom and healing.

I center the needs of folks who may hold a variety of identities that may go unseen in traditional therapy spaces. This is your time to finally have a space to openly process feelings of powerlessness and isolation, and to be seen, heard, and validated. I help people connect back to themselves by helping to unpack the stuff that is hard to look at and deal with alone. I help people address a myriad of concerns that contribute to feelings of sadness and worry. No concern is too small and everyone needs help at some point in their lives.

In order to increase access to therapy I provide evening appointments. I also offer teletherapy for those needing more availability. Along with treating anxiety, depression, relationship and family concerns, I specialize in treating racial trauma and eating disorders from a Health At Every Size, Anti-Oppression, and Trauma Informed Approach. An Understanding Guide

Hi there, I’m Paula Salmon, a mental health therapist and I’m so glad you landed here. I help people who are struggling to live an authentic life due to anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, or because of a difficult past.

I am an understanding guide in helping you find a place where you believe in yourself and have the courage to live your best life; however you define it. I know from my own healing journey that you CAN find that voice you have been looking for and you CAN put the pieces of your life back together again.

I will meet you right where you are with no judgements because we all have a story to tell. We all have reasons for why we make certain decisions, we all have experiences that have shaped and molded who we are, and sometimes, those experiences are painful. I have found that when we have compassion for ourselves and others, we create a space for personal growth and healing. I can assist you in finding that self-love you deserve.

Aside from being a therapist, I am also certified in safe wild mushroom foraging. So, you can often find me wandering through the woods with my beloved dog, Leo. I also enjoy gardening, cooking, and crafting with my family and friends. Schedule a free consultation today.

A Collaborative Connection

I’m glad you’re here! My name is Dorenza and I’m a mental health therapist.  My approach to counseling is one that emphasizes authenticity, and I encourage you to show up as your authentic self too! I understand first-hand that uncovering this can be scary and requires vulnerability, this is something we can work on together. I believe there are different areas in our lives that contribute to our sense of wholeness, and I enjoy helping clients identify areas that are obstacles to achieving a more balanced and fulfilling life. I view therapy as a collaborative effort, and I am here to support you on your path toward healing and growth!

I work with clients who may experience feelings of anxiety and depression, identity concerns, challenges with life transitions, and racial trauma. As your therapist, I value and honor your culture and how you choose to show up in the world. I provide culturally sensitive care that acknowledges your identities and recognizes the role of intersectionality and the need for a safe space to process your concerns. Healing work can be challenging, but you are not alone in your journey! You are deserving of healing. Through my strengths-based approach, paired with humor, and empathy, I look forward to our work together.

Outside of my role of therapist, I enjoy being a plant mom, working on upcycling projects, watching TV, movies, laughing at memes and spending time with my family cat, Momo. Schedule your free consultation today!

Madelyn Harvey, PhD,

Genuine Support

I am Dr. Madelyn Harvey, a therapist who specializes in helping individuals cope with some of the challenges they may face living in a complex world. Over the years, I have worked with people from various backgrounds. One of the most important skills I have learned is to be a good listener. By listening attentively and paying close attention to non-verbal behavior, I have been able to develop a level of empathy that ensures clients that I not only hear what is being said, but I can also feel their emotion.

I specialize in helping individuals who may have relationship concerns, unresolved issues from their past or present, trauma, stress, anxiety, and/or mild depression. I believe a collaborative approach to therapy is one that produces better results; whereby the client and therapist work together as a team. I support an integrated, eclectic approach to therapy, which will involve more than one therapeutic model depending on the issues presented. My favorite modalities are:  Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Reality Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and some of the techniques from Gestalt Therapy. The therapeutic methods I use will encourage clients to work on developing new perspectives on their situations, set goals, commit to change, and/or develop coping strategies. It can be so rewarding when a client states that therapy has been helpful and when they are able to demonstrate some of the coping strategies and skills learned during sessions.

Outside of my role as a therapist, I am a member of a choir, I love to drive across the country and visit exotic places. Although I will engage in short walks and ride my stationary bike periodically, my favorite form of exercise is water aerobics. I love to keep busy and believe in taking time to “smell the roses.”  It is my hope that I can help you work towards having a more fulfilling life. If you are ready to talk, I am ready to listen!
